RUGBY clubs in the Swindon district are being warned to be on their guard after a brazen theft from Bradford on Avon RFC.
Players from Blandford RFC had valuables worth £5,000 stolen after they turned up for a match last Saturday.
Two teams from the Dorset side were welcomed by a 'friendly' spectator at the Bradford club, the man even showing them around the new facilities before warning them that thieves had operated in the area, offering to collect their valuables and put them behind the bar.
He then stayed and watched the game, before collecting the valuables bag off the bar staff at full time and disappearing with it.
Last season clubs in Weymouth, Puddletown, Swanage & Wareham and Sherborne rugby clubs were all visited by changing room thieves on match days and training evenings.
