NOBODY can be absolutely certain why Leanne White, a happily married 29-year-old, threw herself from a Swindon multi-storey car park.

But her loving husband believes she could not face the thought that paedophile George Davison, who abused her when she was a child, might soon be released and that she would bump into him in the street.

We have no reason to believe he is wrong. He, better than anybody, knew Leanne and her silent fears.

Many women who have suffered the kind of depravity inflicted by Davison on girls he raped and indecently assaulted have spoken of the scars that such assaults have left on their minds.

It is hoped this pervert, who was jailed for rape and indecent assault, has spent his years in prison consumed with guilt and regret over the suffering of a total of 13 young Swindon girls he abused.

It is also hoped the others will feel able to talk about their feelings if they have not already done so. Tragically, Leanne kept her despair to herself.

The staff of the Evening Advertiser send her husband and family Gary profound sympathy. George Davison is responsible for more anguish than he can ever fully appreciate.
