YOUR article regarding the proposed additional 4,000 homes that will be required in the not too distant future and the land east of the A419 being the favoured site, leads me to ask the following question.
Will the new Conservative councillors that represent the wards of St Philips, St Margaret and Covingham and Nythe have the same commitment to protect the wards they represent from this development as the previous Labour councillors did?
I think not. Two of them live in Westlea and the other in the centre of Swindon.
I believe they will be more concerned about protecting the west of Swindon where they live than the east where they were elected.
