FLIERS from Bradford on Avon, Chippenham and Corsham will be among 50 multiple sclerosis sufferers piloting light aircraft over Salisbury Plain tomorrow.

The flying day, from 10am to 5pm, is designed to boost confidence and self-esteem among the disabled pilots. It is being organised by the British Disabled Flying Club and MS sufferer and MS Society trustee Alun White.

The event is the largest of a 2003 series made possible by a £5,000 grant from the MS Society Millennium Awards Scheme and support from local MS branches.

The Old Sarum Flying Club is providing instructors and aircraft.

Mr White said: "It's going to be a great day with fliers coming from as far as Farnbor-ough, Yeovil and Cheltenham.

"Flying is not only great fun but helps to build confidence and self-esteem for people with MS, some of whom may want to go on and qualify for the new private pilot's licence."
