Bradford on Avon and organisers of its Community Open Day on Sunday should be congratulated.

The sun shone on an event which brought together groups from across the community: schools, the health centre, and the town council; and concerns from the skate park, rail travel, local traffic and road safety, to international trade.

They weren't forgetting the lighter side of community life either with music, theatre and arts groups, food and wine appreciation, and even the ladies over-50s swimming club promoting activities.

The event organisers, and the more than 80 exhibitors who make the town and surrounding villages what they are, have much of which to be proud.
