Ref. 14090/1FIREFIGHTERS in Trowbridge were among those who paid tribute to fallen comrades across the world with a minutes' silence on Tuesday.
But the Trowbridge watch had to delay their 11am tribute, after being called out to a fire in ducting at Avon Fabrications, Bowerhill.
The silence, observed by firefighters across the county, coincided with a service of remembrance at St Paul's Cathedral for International Firefighters' Day,
Wiltshire Chief Fire Officer Neil Wright said the jet attacks on New York two years ago were the catalyst for the annual day of remembrance.
The public were encouraged to join the tribute across the county.
