Ref. 27282NINE musicians took to the stage at the Athenaeum Centre on Friday night for Warminster Lions Club's third annual concert.

The concert, which is designed to give young musicians the chance of performing before an audience, saw performances on piano, saxophone and flute, as well as two vocal duets.

The event, which is fast becoming part of Warminster's musical calendar, drew a positive reaction from a sizeable audience.

The master of ceremonies for the second time was Beverley Doel and performers were helped back stage by Laura Brett. Warminster School teacher Brian Martineau accompanied some of the musicians who were all presented with a book token by Lions Club president George Witts.

Lions Club publicity officer Digby Barker said: "We were very pleased with how it went. We had around 100 people there and the performers did very well.

"The music ranged from Bach and Handel through to Bartok, Sherman and Elton John."
