SWINDON & District Men's Bowling Association closed their season with their last representative match of the 2003 campaign.

Unfortunately there was no happy ending for outgoing president Mike Large as his team were beaten by South Warwickshire Tourists at Highworth 118-111.

However, Large won as his rink, skipped by his deputy, Shrivenham's Ken Downton, edged home by one shot.

S&D's only other success came on rink six where Jim Nelson, who has been in outstanding form all season, led his quartet to 14 shot victory. But S&D lost on the other four rinks and the match overall.
