Yorkshire's hopes of First Division cricket next season were severely dented by a day of rain at Headingley.

Needing a win to snatch the final promotion spot from Gloucestershire, Yorkshire could extend their lead of 136 overnight, by only a further 25.

It leaves them just a day to fashion victory, although they would need to set a total and bowl Gloucestershire out.

Gloucestershire managed 344 in reply to Yorkshire's 476. Just 7.5 overs were possible yesterday, but was sufficient for Yorkshire to lose Craig White and Anthony McGrath.
