CHIPPENHAM TOWN entertain Stafford Rangers in the Dr Martens Premier Division tomorrow and caretaker boss Adie Mings insists his basement-dwelling troops enter the contest in high spirits.

A morale-boosting 4-0 win over Supermarine on Wednesday broke the Bluebirds' losing streak and Mings is looking to build on that against one of the pre-season title favourites.

"The lads are buzzing and the standard of opposition means they won't need too much motivating.

"It's a game we can win if the boys play to their potential."

The Chippenham injury list is still taking its toll with Simon Charity, Colin Towler, Wayne Thorne, Ellis Wilmot and Pat Mountain all facing more time on the treatment table.

But three centre-halves return to bolster the makeshift defence that was rarely tested in the Premier Shield clash with Supermarine.

Tom Gould is fit again after recovering from an infected toe, Gareth Davies should shake off a sickness bug and Toby Redwood is back following midweek work commitments.

Those three will contest the two centre back berths, while Gary Horgan will revert to his midfield role in place of the suspended Mark Harrington.

Nathan Edwards could retain the right-back slot after impressing against Marine and Keith O'Halloran is in contention for a starting place after overcoming a hamstring strain.

n Former Chippenham boss Tommy Saunders has admitted that he is interested in the vacant Bath City job following Alan Pridham's sacking.

Saunders said: "The opportunity has probably come a couple of months too soon for me.

"I want to have a break for a bit but I'll think about it over the weekend.

"Everyone knows I live right next to Bath's ground and I'd be surprised if I didn't go for it."
