CORSHAM Town defender Dan Beck travels to Wellington tomorrow with memories of the wonder goal he scored against them at The Southbank earlier in the season, but admits it is unlikely to happen again.

Beck scored the winner in Corsham's 1-0 win at home to Wellington in August with an unstoppable 25 yard volley and is now looking to help Corsham win the reverse fixture tomorrow.

He said: "I think that goal was a one-off. Obviously it would be nice to score another goal but honestly it doesn't matter who scores.

"I would settle for winning 1-0 from a tap-in by anyone in the last minute as long as we win. Wellington is not a nice place to go but it is important that we build on our last win over Cadbury Heath."

Beck, 22, has played in a variety of positions this season but looks to have made the right back slot his own with a number of assured performances.

He has already represented Wiltshire at under 18, under 20 and under 21 level and on Saturday, along with team-mates Nigel Curtis and Frank Coleman, played for the county senior side in the 2-2 draw with Guernsey.

He said: "It was really good. I think all three of us did Corsham proud. We were disappointed that they equalised in the last minute but overall it was a good day.

"Hopefully I have done enough to keep my place for the match against the Royal Navy. It was a good bit of profile for the club and myself.

"I think there are a few other players at Corsham who are on the fringes of the county side and it was decided that perhaps we were best suited for that particular match."

Corsham have enjoyed a mixed start to the season and Beck believes their biggest problem is their inconsistency.

He said: "I think the whole team either plays well or badly together. We can be outstanding or the complete opposite and we need to become more consistent.

"This season has been very up and down so far as we either hammer teams or get hammered. Hopefully we can start winning some games 1-0.

"Players are still being moved around to try and find their best positions but once we have a settled team we can get more confidence."

Corsham's victory over Wellington earlier in the season was Colin Bush's first three points as manager and he will be looking for a repeat performance tomorrow.

He said: "They are a big and well organised side. Until recently they have not been picking up great results but in the last two weeks they have beaten Shrewton and Cadbury.

"But as long as we perform we are more than capable of going down there and winning."
