FEARS a 12th takeaway outlet could set-up in Melksham have been eased after town councillors voted to oppose the move.

Councillors voted to object to an application for a takeaway in King Street at a meeting on Monday. King Street is already the site of three takeaways and an Indian restaurant.

Cllr Nick Westbrook said the application was "the straw which broke the camel's back."

One King Street resident said his life was being ruined by early-morning disturbances directly linked to takeaway opening hours.
