PROJECTS across Wiltshire are getting a boost from the launch of the Third Economic Strategy for Wiltshire and Swindon on Thursday.

Initiatives such as Vision for Trowbridge and Broadband connection will benefit from strategic planning by the Wiltshire and Swindon Economic Partnership (WSEP).

The scheme pools resources to carry out projects raised by the South West Regional Development Agency.

Caroline Lewis, manager at WSEP, said: "The plan lasts up until 2008 because we believe it is a sufficient time for strategic planning.

"There will be periods of review during the scheme for the partners to meet and discuss progress."

The economic strategy focuses on raising productivity, developing flexible, skilled workforce and working closer in partnerships.

Since the launch of the past economic strategy three years ago the national policy has urged regions to work closer in partnership.
