Ref. 24855-35SWINDON CANCER APPEAL: MORE than 50 businesses in Swindon have now pledged to support the Macmillan Nurses Appeal by sponsoring a drake (common name: a rubber duck) with Swindon Old Town Rotary Club.
The drakes cost £50 each and the Corporate Drake Race is being held this year on Monday, May 3, on the River Ray, Westcott Recreation Ground on Wootton Bassett Road, Swindon, as part of the annual Duck Race sponsored by Nationwide.
A superb engraved crystal bowl is the prize for the lucky winning company.
According to Rotarian David Pratt: "The support and care the local Macmillan nurses give at an often difficult time is a vital service that local business could and should be helping to support."
