An information day for Parkinson's Disease sufferers will be held at the Great Western Hospital on Wednesday during Parkinson's Awareness Week.
The Parkinson's Disease Society (PDS) is the UK's only charity for people with Parkinson's and their families.
The disease is a progressive neurological condition affecting movements such as walking, talking, and writing. It is named after Dr James Parkinson (1755-1824), the London doctor who first identified it as a specific condition.
The PDS has more than 300 branches and support groups across the UK. In addition to its support and information services, the PDS invests in research projects into all aspects of the disease.
There are 120,000 people in the UK with Parkinson's disease, and 10,000 are diagnosed each year. For more information visit www.parkinsons.org.uk
