Steve Borthwick received the top award at Bath Rugby's annual awards dinner.

Borthwick was being named the Andy Robinson/ Blackthorn players' player of the year.

The second row has enjoyed another incredible season leading the Zurich Premiership in lineouts won and stolen and forcing his way back into England reckoning during the RBS Six Nations Championship.

The Bath Rugby squad voted for the top five performers at each game throughout the season and Borthwick fought off stiff competition from David Flatman and Michael Lipman to come out on top.

He is also in the running for the Zurich Premiership player of the season award which will be unveiled later this month.

Zak Feaunati was named the World's Greatest Minds best forward after enjoying a fabulous season to date. He finished top of the ball-carrying pile in the Zurich Premiership with 251 carries.

Martyn Wood was named the Thring Townsend best back. At times this season it has been difficult to get seven fit backs onto the field. However Wood has almost been an ever present and has been outstanding throughout.

Andy Beattie was the deserved recipient of the Alec Lewis most improved player award. He has played in every Zurich Premiership game this season and has worked extremely well in one of the best back row combinations in England.

Matt Stevens was named the Dorree Bonner young player of the season, while Rob Fidler, who signed from Gloucester last summer, was named the Lin Arnold Clubman of the Season.

There was also an award for Olly Barkley. Not only did the fly half finish the season as the club's top points scorer, but his tally of 10 tries was enough to see him finish the regular season as top try scorer.

Lee Best, sidelined with a knee injury for the main part of the campaign, was named the Virgin Mobile Community Player of the season.

Other awards saw Michael Lipman scoop an award for his defensive achievements, while Alex Crockett was given a special award for the biggest hit of the season against Newcastle Falcons in October.
