Jean Paul Lefeuvre and Didier Andr in Le Jardin.TALENTED duo Jean Paul Lefeuvre and Didier Andr brought their unique brand of French circus to the City Hall on Wednesday and Thursday nights last week.
The packed audience was treated to juggling, acrobatics and clowning, as Jean Paul and Didier wowed us with their ingenuity in Le Jardin.
Utilising sheer body strength and flexibility, we watched them perform some seemingly impossible feats as one swung the other from the roof of their domed stage and both balanced on top of two blackboards they had pushed together.
Of particular hilarity was the opening scene where Jean Paul treated us to '101 different things to do with a wheelbarrow' and their final act where Didier was stripped of his clothes and given one sheet from Le Monde to cover his modesty.
But Le Jardin was so much more than good old-fashioned clowning around as the relationship between the two characters, which could be likened to that between Laurel and Hardy, grew into one of great friendship.
Lets hope this new generation of circus magic catches on in Britain.
