Costumed dancers get in the mood.HUNDREDS of people, some of them dressed in uniform and period costume, packed the grounds of Wilton House on Sunday night for a wartime swing concert commemorating the 60th anniversary of D-Day.
The event, in aid of SSAFA Forces Help, featured the Salisbury Big Band, together with vocalists, and was compered by John Greenstreet.
The occasion revived the musical atmosphere of the dark days before D-Day, with the bitter-sweet songs of Vera Lynn and the dynamic sounds of swing.
The whole thing was started off by a Pitts Special aerobatic display by display pilot Peter Borchert, who lives in Wilton.
