The conversion of two agricultural buildings in Blunsdon has been given the go-ahead by councillors.
Officers recommended that a conversion of two buildings at Home Farm, off the High Street, should not go ahead because it would impact on nearby countryside.
But at a planning meeting in the council chambers last night the officers' concerns were rubbished.
Up until nine years ago the farm was used by Unigate Dairies but it fell into disrepair and has since become a den for nuisance behaviour, with youths spraying graffiti as well as setting the buildings on fire.
Now the site will become two houses with a building for parking and storage.
Coun Doreen Dart (Con, Blunsdon) said: "The site has been a mess and this development will alleviate the problem."
