FRIENDS and supporters of Wroughton's Prospect Hospice will be at its annual service of thanksgiving on Sunday.

Weather permitting, it will be an open air service, although there will be a marquee on hand if there is rain.

General manager David Line said: "The address will be given by the Reverend Liam Slattery, Roman Catholic Dean of Swindon.

"Music will be provided by the Salvation Army Band and Mr Dennis Williams, and there will also be light refreshments served afterwards."

Those arriving by car will find parking spaces in the hospice's overflow car park or behind the nearby Ridgeway Hospital. The service will begin at 3pm.

Anybody needing further details about the service, the number of spaces available or simply about making donations to the hospice, should get in touch on 01793 815142.

The Prospect Hospice offers comfort and medical assistance to some of the most seriously ill people in the Swindon area, as well comforting and advising their loved ones.

However all but a small proportion of the £6,000 daily running costs must be met by donated contributions.
