CIRENCESTER College student Katie Sharrocks said she got quite stressed when exams loomed but has so far managed to keep it all in perspective.
Katie, of Sparcells, said: "I can sort of understand how people want to commit suicide when the stress gets too much, but exams are not the be all and end all.
"If people are trying to get into universities that demand high grades then obviously the pressure increases.
"A lot of my friends are bright so I feel as though I have to do well so I don't look stupid, but it doesn't bother me too much."
Katie, who is hoping to study midwifery at Kingston University next year, added: "I think schools should have counsellors.
"But if people feel stressed they should talk to their friends or family and try and get out to take their mind off things. There should be a balance between studying and a social life."
