AFTER months of organisation, around 1,800 players took to the field to put on a feast of entertaining football at the weekend's Trowbridge tournament.

The U12 and 13s girls took part in two exhibition events. Swindon Badgers took the honours in both competitions.

On Saturday the U7s played out a superb soccer festival across six separate groups. Trowbridge Town Youth came out as highest achievers in three groups with Shaw and Whitley, Frome Town Youth and Chippenham Town Youth securing the honours in the other groups.

In a close U9 final Trowbridge Town Youth emerged victorious over Warminster Highbury. A great final capped a highly competitive U11s competition. Bristol Rovers Supporters Club edged out Trowbridge Town Youth 2-1 in the final.

In the U13s ended in an all Trowbridge Town Youth final.

The U8s took part in a soccer festival on Sunday. Trowbridge Town Youth emerged as the highest achievers in four groups with Wootton Bassett and Chippenham Town Youth taking the honours in the other groups.

Larkhall emerged as the top club in the U10s.

Trowbridge Wanders emerged as winners in the U12s with a 3-0 win against Devizes Town in the final.

The U14s rounded the tournament off in great style. In a tightly contested final Frome Collegians pipped Westbury with a golden goal in extra time. It was a great advert for football, and a great way to finish a superb weekend.
