13260/3CARING physiotherapist Anne Cooper is appealing for sponsorship so she can give her services free to help war victims in Bosnia.

Mrs Cooper, of All Cannings, is booked to go out next month with Healing Hands Network, a registered charity, but needs to raise the £600 cost.

As well as being a physiotherapist, working part-time for the National Health Service in Green Lane Hospital, Devizes, she also works privately and offers complementary therapies. It will be the complementary therapies such as reiki and the Bowen technique that she will be providing for people in Bosnia.

Healing Hands Network sends out volunteer care professionals to work with people suffering from the trauma of war or disaster.

Mrs Cooper, 49, said: "The therapies I offer involve massage and healing energy. A lot of it is about helping people to trust again and bringing them some self-respect.

"It will also maybe help them with the discomfort from the pain they have, whether that is emotional or physical, as so many of them have been badly abused by people.

"Healing Hands Network is an amazing project and it's nice to be able to offer something back to the world."

Mrs Cooper will spend the first week at a house in Sarajevo where people go to for treatment and the second week she will be doing outreach work in Mostar.
