SINGLE mum Sarah Brogden fears she is being targeted after her 4x4 vehicle had white spirit poured over it for the second time in a month.

Ms Brogden, of White Street, Market Lavington, was horrified when she went out to her car on Sunday morning to find the bodywork of her Mitsubishi Pajero had been damaged with the chemical, as it had just returned from being repaired from the last time it was vandalised.

She said: "I just couldn't believe it. It was resprayed on Friday and got done again on Saturday night. I am so upset about it, I am an emotional wreck."

Ms Brogden's car was first vandalised at the beginning of May when white spirit was poured over the bonnet, driver's door and passenger door. The damage was valued at £2,000 and, although her insurance company agreed to pay, her premium went up from £700 a year to £1,100.

This time, Ms Brogden will have to cover the £600 cost of repairing the damage, but it is the emotional cost that is telling on her.

She said: "I couldn't stop crying yesterday. The police say it looks as though someone is deliberately targeting me, but I don't know of anyone with a vendetta against me."

As a result of her first experience, Ms Brogden organised a meeting with other White Street residents to discuss setting up a Neighbourhood Watch scheme in the street.

She is now wondering if her initiative brought her more unwanted attention from the vandals.
