MARLBOROUGH artist Jenny Smithers has given a commemorative plate to town Mayor Coun Graham Francis.
Mrs Smithers, who worked at Marlborough Tiles as a decorative artist for some years, gave the plate to mark the 800th anniversary of the town's royal charter
The plate shows the seal of the royal charter of King John, modified by local historian David Sherratt.
Mrs Smithers has turned her former profession into a hobby and now paints plates to order.
She said: "I can do anything people want, copying photographs onto plates, for example."
Mrs Smithers has taken on commissions for the town council, including the insignia of HMS Marlborough, which now hangs over the entrance to the Mayor's parlour.
She can be contacted for commissions on (01672) 512131.
