Ref. 30724-09ONE of Swindon's best-known health clubs opened its doors to help children get some half-term exercise.
The day of circuit training was Cannons Health Club's contribution to a week of entertainment for young people at the Greenbridge Retail Park.
For general manager Nicki Dawkins, it was a pleasure and a mission.
She was worried by recent figures revealing that childhood obesity and unfitness is at a peak never seen before.
Obesity is a major factor in illnesses such as heart disease and certain forms of diabetes.
She explained: "We did something similar last half term.
"The aim is to raise awareness of the importance of exercise among young people children especially."
Nicki added: "The aim is to teach children that taking exercise is fun, and we think we have managed to do that."
