I AM afraid that we cannot share Barrie Hudson's enthusiasm for the Swindon Fiesta.
Having arrived at the so-called opening time of 11am, we paid £5 admission and £1 for parking, only to discover that very little was happening, even a number of the fairground rides were not operating, although the bar was open!
We wandered round with our seven-year-old for over an hour and a half and, yes, he did enjoy the two rides which were value for money, although other stalls geared to children were a complete rip off.
We then decided to call it a day and left as it was obvious that no free attractions were going to happen for some time.
Surely, if such an event is due to start at a certain time, some attractions should be up and running and not merely those designed to extract money. It is not an experience I would repeat.
