A van saleswoman from Warminster traded in her figures and targets for the glitz and glamour of Las Vegas.

Jemma Scott, of Mercedes dealership Rygor Commercials on the West Wilts Trading Estate, Westbury, won a gold award from the manufacturer's Van Academy, in recognition of her sales performance in 2003.

She travelled to Las Vegas with her partner and has worked for Rygor since 1994 but became sales administrator for the truck and van department four years later.

She said: "I'm not really a gambler but after spending a week there I would thoroughly recommend it. It is definitely one of those places that everyone must see."

Jemma was booked into the five-star Bellagio Hotel, famous for featuring in the 2001 movie blockbuster Ocean's Eleven.

She said: "I was a bit disappointed not to spot Brad Pitt or George Clooney though Robbie Williams was seen in the foyer during our stay.

"Rafting down the Colorado River and the helicopter ride over the Grand Canyon made it for me. It was an amazing contrast to the glitz of the city.

"I didn't brag about it but I told several of my customers who said they'd seen how hard I'd worked over the year and were happy that it had been recognised."

The awards were set up by Mercedes-Benz two years ago to recognise and reward the best performing staff in its nationwide dealer network.
