One of the many wishes I would like to achieve sometime in my life among shopping in Bloomingdales in New York with a blank cheque and abseiling down the Eiffel Tower dressed as catwoman is to drive a Porsche.

And it came true when I was asked if I would like to test drive a Porsche for the weekend.

Of course I jumped at the chance. And once I'd peeled myself from the ceiling in the office, my thoughts conjured up images of me togged up-to-the-nines, turning heads as I cruise the streets of Wiltshire in my sleek, irresistible Porsche.

Then I thought, 'What if I prang it?', 'What if I get pulled over' I mean it's not like there are many young women that drive a Porsche.

Will my baby seat fit in the back? And would it be uncool if I put the 'baby onboard' sticker in the rear window?

And worst of all, 'How embarrassing would it be to stall in traffic?'

However, on observing the details of the car on the web, I discovered that the nippy little sports car had turned into a monster beast four-wheel drive.

My car for the weekend was none other than a Porsche Cayenne S Tiptronic 4WD.

And this beautiful beast dispelled all my earlier worries of trying to transport my baby and her bits and bobs into a cosy sports car.

This sophisticated giant oozes sex appeal as well as being cute and pretty, perfect for a woman like me.

Over the weekend I became more than Amanda Goodship, editorial designer and mother; I became a Porsche owner for 72 hours.

Stepping up into the cockpit of the Cayenne S, settling into warm, grey, leather upholstery, I felt right at home.

The view from the driving seat is overwhelming you can see for miles ahead and the centre of the dashboard gives you details of how many miles you can drive before re-fuelling, along with what CD is currently playing and the temperature.

The Satellite navigation system is comprehensive and pretty straight forward once you've got the hang of it.

The drive is smooth and very comfortable. In fact it feels almost like the car is driving you to your destination.

You know when you are in a Porsche when you accelerate. The subtle purr rises to a beautiful roar as the animal takes off.

Safety and security is paramount with airbags front and side and a central locking system, alarm and immobiliser.

I drove the length and breadth of Wiltshire and beyond to get the most from my once-in-a-lifetime experience.

The name Porsche conjures up images of youthfulness, luxurious living and diamond rings from Tiffany's.

And boy does it deliver that and more
