PEOPLE celebrating their 21st birthdays this year are being asked to help the Wiltshire Cycleway celebrate its own anniversary.
The Travelwise team at Wiltshire County Council is organising a marathon cycle relay around the 168 miles of Wiltshire cycleways and hopes to find 21 21-year-olds to take part.
Travelwise manager Bill Prendergast said: "Wiltshire cycleway is 21 this year and we want to mark its anniversary. Each rider will be asked to ride eight miles of the 168-mile county circular route, accompanied hopefully by lots of other cyclists throughout the day."
Each 21-year-old who takes part will be given a new bike, get an invite to a reception at the Lock Inn on the evening of the ride and receive a free party at Chicago Rock in Trowbridge as part of the Ride the Rock campaign run in conjunction with the 21st birthday celebrations.
The event on June 20, will also be the finale of Wiltshire Bike Week, which promotes environmentally-friendly means of transport as an alternative to the car.
