A BID to demolish an antiques warehouse and replace it with six homes in Warminster town centre has been refused.
West Wiltshire District Council has rejected a plan to tear down the 50-year-old K & A Welch antiques shop and warehouse.
The family-run business was to be replaced with a town house, three homes and two apartments as partners Kevin and Alan Welch were set to retire.
Officers working for the district council have now rejected the plan on access grounds.
A spokesman said: "It was an access issue, highways officers decided the proposed entrance at the junction was unsuitable for this kind of housing project."
Warminster Town Council had recommended the plan for permission in March.
