WHO says people don't care like they used to? Not us! It's Volunteers Week (June 1-7) and we at Advocacy Works wish to publicly thank all the wonderful people voluntarily giving their time and skills to helping people in Wiltshire who are experiencing mental health problems.
With one in four of us destined to experience the same, one day that could be you, your friend, your family.
These volunteers are not your usual do-gooders, although they do make good things happen. They're quietly working in the background on management committees, on user groups, as supporters and, for us, as highly trained advocates. It's rarely appreciated just how much these unsung heroes and heroines contribute to everyone's well-being. Thank you.
Advocacy Works helps people in mental and emotional distress to say what they want, secure their rights, represent their interests and obtain the services they need.
If you want to know more about our volunteering opportunities or if you might need an advocate, phone (01225) 344959 or contact us at the address below.
