CHILDREN from Trowbridge-based Starry Eyes will help turn this year's civic service into a colourful affair by dressing-up in animal costumes.

The annual service at St James's Church on Sunday will focus on the chosen theme of diversity and unity.

Led by Canon Christopher Brown, invited guests will perform readings, including teachers from Longmeadow Primary School.

Representatives of the Trowbridge mayor's chosen charities Stepping Stones nursery and the Hope Nature Centre have also been invited.

Mayor Cllr Grace Hill said: "There will be children dressed as animals probably scaring everyone to death. There will be everything from monkeys to penguins."

The service begins at 6.30pm.
