28321/1BIG Ted paid a visit to a Trowbridge primary school to thank a classroom assistant for her fundraising.
The Royal United Hospital's mascot, which represents its Forever Friends Appeal, called at Wingfield School on Friday to collect a £642 cheque from Joanna Rudyard.
In addition to raising hundreds of pounds for the charity, the classroom assistant collected £900 for the school by taking part in the Helphire Bath Half Marathon.
Kirsty Brown, appeal events officer, said: "As we approach the halfway point of the appeal and get ready to celebrate five years of fundraising, it is just as important as ever that people continue to pledge their support."
Places remain in the forthcoming Bristol Half Marathon for anyone wanting to race on behalf of the charity.
The Forever Friends Appeal is raising money for the children, cancer, cardiology and critical care units at the Bath hospital.
