THAMES Water volunteers will be mucking in at the Glastonbury Festival this weekend to raise money and support for charity WaterAid.

Steve Pagett and Julie Moffat, who work at the company's customer service centre in Kembrey Park, Swindon, will be joining 40 volunteers to man toilets and help out with recycling at the site.

WaterAid will also be asking festival-goers to sign its petition to Flush Out Poverty, which will be given to Chancellor Gordon Brown on July 1.

Steve, who visited WaterAid projects in Malawi earlier this year, said: "WaterAid makes an awesome contribution to Malawian life, which counts for so much. Every penny we raise at Glastonbury means hope for a better future, in real life and death terms."

Throughout the weekend the volunteers will be helping to keep the African-style pit latrines clean and odour-free.

WaterAid's singing angel will be entertaining the toilet queue in return for a donation.
