GAZETTE & HERALD: DEPRESSION sufferer Nicholas Tigwell had concerns over his future an inquest heard last Thursday.

Mr Tigwell, 45, was found dead at his Hazel Grove Home in Calne on May 10.

His parents had been worried when they had not seen him for two days and contacted the police, who broke into the house.

They found Mr Tigwell dead in his bathroom. A knife and a pair of scissors were by his body and there was a small laceration to one wrist.

A post mortem ascertained that Mr Tigwell had bled to death.

Coroner Richard van Oppen did not call any witnesses but read statements.

He said no suicide note had been found and police had said they were satisfied there were no suspicious circumstances.

The coroner said Mr Tigwell had been to see his doctor about his depression that he believed was due to being made redundant two years earlier.

He had been put in touch with the community mental health team and was prescribed medication.

Community psychiatric nurse William Francis said Mr Tigwell was worried about his future and because the probation period for a new job had been extended.

Mr Francis said: "He was worried and concerned about his future."

The nurse said Mr Tigwell had told him he had felt suicidal until a friend visited him.

Mr Francis said: "I did not think the threat of suicide was a high risk."

He had arranged to see Mr Tigwell again on May 11. "Although he had mental health problems I felt there was little risk of his self harming," the nurse's statement concluded.

The coroner recorded a verdict that Mr Tigwell took his own life while the balance of his mind was disturbed.
