Sylvia Cottle became the first female to win a Haydon St AS trophy on Sunday, when she won the club's Dace Cup with 5-12-0 from a swim just below the Bridge at Hannington on the River Thames.

The river was in perfect condition, with catches made up of small fish: dace, roach, gudgeon and perch, with most anglers favouring a stick float and caster combination.

Second in the Dace Cup was Alan Hambridge (3-8-0) and third Mark Jones (3-3-0).

Heaviest bag of all species was taken by Martin Preston (9-8-0), followed by Mark Jones (7-10-0) and Sylvia Cottle was third with (7-6-0).

Pete Sole set a new match record in South Cerney AC's Carp Cup on the Wick Water Lake two on Sunday. Pete took 42 carp for a cracking 140lb 10oz, second was Mick Telling (85-8-0) and third Bob Smith (80-12-0).

The Isis AC stretch of the Bristol Avon has been fishing exceptionally well this season for all species of fish. On Sunday it was the turn of the bream and tench to show in the Isis Club match and it was the man on form on the water Adam Carter who again won, this time with 19-5-0 from peg 111, two bream to 6lb, tench and roach.

Ray Duncan was on peg 130, he took two tench and two bream for 17-12-0 and was followed by Peter Gilbert on 137, with three tench and some perch for 13-13-0.
