A 400-year-old village pub business near Westbury is on the market for less than £100,000.

Owners Tom and Vicki Faulkner have put their remaining eight-year lease on The Lamb in Edington on the market for £92,500, as they want to invest in a business closer to their families in Hampshire.

The public house, which includes owner's accommodation of four double bedrooms, a bathroom, and a large lounge, is being sold through estate agent Christie & Co's Bristol office.

Spokesman Matthew Smith said: "Our clients have been in residence for two years and bought a dejected business which historically operated solely on wet sales.

"In a short space of time they upgraded and refurbished the property to provide a relaxed and warm atmosphere. It has quickly established a reputation for good service, well-kept ales and freshly-cooked quality food.

"The Lamb is seen by the local villagers as an important part of the community and provides an ideal meeting place."

The company's advert describes Edington as 'an affluent village situated amongst rolling countryside on the edge of the Salisbury Plain and the nearby tourist attraction, Westbury White Horse.'

The Lamb also features two open fireplaces, a non-smoking restaurant and a garden with bench seating for 50 customers.

A car park can hold up to 24 vehicles.
