PEOPLE in Warminster are celebrating after the minor injuries unit reopened at the town's hospital.
The unit closed due to recruiting troubles and was relocated to Westbury's Eastleigh Surgery earlier this year.
But it reopened on Monday and staff at the surgery are delighted to be back.
Debbie Pew Jones, a spokesman for the Primary Care Trust, said: "The staff are absolutely delighted to be working together again in Warminster. The patients are also very grateful that the unit is open.
"There has been a good turnover of patients since it opened on Monday."
In March the trust feared the unit would have to close permanently but instead it was relocated to Eastleigh Surgery.
But the PCT wanted to bring the surgery back to Warminster to save residents travelling further afield.
Warminster town councillor, Les Rose said: "We are all very grateful as it's a step towards bringing the hospital back to full capacity. I'm delighted and hope it never suffers again like it did last year.
"I've spoken to many people about it around the town and they are very, very pleased the unit is open again."
The MIU is open Monday to Friday from 8am to 6.30pm.
It caters for minor injuries such as cuts, burns, and minor tissue injuries to arms and legs.
The minor injury units in Warminster and Melksham have created a wave of controversy in recent years.
The Melksham unit remains closed at night due to staff shortages.
