TWO men are planning to boost the influence of over 50s in the community. Terry Biles and Rod Hutchen, who both live in Westwood, plan to set up a Senior Citizens Forum to represent the views of the growing number of older people in the town.
Mr Biles, 67, believes Bradford on Avon older residents have no effective means of expressing concerns about problems affecting them.
"It's going to give a voice to the over 50 group in Bradford on Avon," he said.
There are already 650 Senior Citizens Forums across the UK.
The non-political, independent groups represent their members' needs to local government and public bodies, targeting issues such as age discrimination, health, pensions and benefit.
