A MACHETE attacker from Bradford on Avon who slashed a man across the face during a dispute involving her daughter has won an appeal to have her jail term cut.
Michelle Buckley, 39, of Bancroft, was convicted of wounding at Gloucester Crown Court in April and jailed for six years.
Judges sitting at the Court of Appeal on Tuesday ruled the sentence was "manifestly excessive", after hearing Buckley was sorry for what happened.
Mr Justice Royce said Buckley had led a "valuable" life until the incident in February 2003, at Hoopers Barton in Frome, involving Buckley's daughter and a woman called Nadia Glover.
Buckley arrived on the scene following a row between the two women, telling Ms Glover's boyfriend she was going to kill her.
When the man tried to reason with her she slashed him across the face. leaving a 7cm wound.
Buckley, who had two previous convictions from the 1980s, denied being anywhere near the scene at her trial.
The sentence was reduced from six years to five years.
