Some people who live outside both Westbury Leigh and Leigh Park in Westbury are still confused about which neighbourhood is which, so the campaign to clarify matters continues.

One area is old. One area is new. Neither is part of the other. Both are in Westbury.

West Wiltshire District Council is the official area-naming authority and the newly-adopted District Plan confirms that:

1. Leigh Park is the new south-western extension of Westbury located on land to the north of Westbury Leigh.

2. Leigh Park Local Centre will include shops, healthcare facilities and halls for community use and worship to meet the daily requirements of the residents.

3. The new primary school building is part of Leigh Park.

Westbury Leigh Primary School has now moved from Westbury Leigh into Leigh Park by the Local Centre, both of which are adjacent to protected countryside representing Westbury's western rural fringe.

Unfortunately, the school's name is now causing more confusion for Leigh Park's identity. The District Council has now asked the school to recognise that it is now located in Leigh Park and to demonstrate this by including Leigh Park as a neighbourhood descriptor in its address on its notepaper. This would help to reduce the confusion about the school's new location in Leigh Park.

Westbury Leigh and Leigh Park are now officially designated as separate though adjacent neighbourhoods in Westbury, each with their own character and designated community centre.
