MUSICAL youngsters are being asked to come forward to join a new band in Trowbridge.
The air, sea and army cadets hope to come together to form a joint Corps of Drums, the first in the country to involve all three cadet groups.
Jennifer Polledri, of the Wessex Reserve Forces and Cadets Association, said: "There is no musical element in Wiltshire's cadet organisation at the moment.
"There is so much music in Trowbridge schools, and of a high standard, and we want to encourage this and encourage interested students to come along and join in."
To launch the initiative a cadet band will be visiting Achilles headquarters, in Frome Road, on October 23 to host a workshop.
This will be followed by public displays in The Shires and the town centre. Youngsters interested in joining do not have to commit to the cadets long term, but can just complete the organisation's first star level, to become a band member attached to the cadets.
The hunt is also on for a volunteer bandmaster for the Corps of Drums. Contact Mrs Polledri on (01225) 768202 for further details.
