A LEBANESE woman is urging people in west Wiltshire to take up the Middle Eastern art of belly dancing.
Wafaa Powell, 43, of Hungerford Avenue, Trowbridge, has set up a belly dance class in West Ashton.
The trained belly dancer said: "I really enjoy belly dancing. It's my hobby. I grew up doing it because it's something all Lebanese girls do. It's a family thing." Mrs Powell, who moved to the UK four years ago said: "It's very good exercise as it involves the whole body and all the muscles.
"It is also a very sensual dance. It's not erotic but a way to express feelings."
The class in West Ashton Village Hall is at 8pm on Monday.
Anyone who wants to join can contact Mrs Powell on (01225) 355072.
