DRUNKS who were boozing on benches outside a church in Gorse Hill have now been moved on.
Police took swift action following a report in last month's Adver which revealed that drunks were hanging around outside St Barnabas' Church, in Cricklade Road, and making residents' lives a misery.
But it was feared that the boozers were drifting back and drinking from bottles hidden in plastic bags.
Coun Maurice Fanning (Lab, Gorse Hill and Pinehurst) warned tough action would be taken.
But now traders say the drunks, who gathered most days from the morning until late afternoon, have gone.
