I am one of 11,000 campaigners who has signed the petition for a 1km exclusion zone around Coate.
I knew exactly what I was signing. Although Coate Water will not be built on I feel building on the greenfield site around Coate Water will spoil this site forever.
My family and I have enjoyed visiting Coate and the surrounding area for more than 35 years.
The views from Day House Lane towards Liddington are spectacular and should be left unspoiled.
A comment was made in the Advertiser about horse owners having plenty of time to find new homes.
As an owner of one of those horses (my horse has lived 14 of his 16 years in the Day House Lane fields) yes, I may be able to find somewhere else to keep him but what about the wildlife in the area?
Is the council going to give them plenty of time to find somewhere else because they won't know what has hit them until the bulldozers turn up!
I will be lying in front of those bulldozers and would like to thank Jean Saunders and her supporters for all the hard work they have put into protecting this beautiful area.
