LATE arrival Geraint Lewis is looking to make up for lost time by making an immediate impact at Bath.

The 30-year-old No 8, who made his debut in the 22-13 Zurich A league defeat at Saracens on Monday, switched from National League One side Rotherham to boost the club's back row options ahead of the forthcoming Heineken Cup campaign.

And with Bath heading into a crunch Premiership encounter at in-form Leicester tomorrow (3pm), Lewis hopes he can help his new employers realise their ambitions.

"The opportunity to join a club like Bath does not come around too often,'' admitted the 16-time capped Welsh international.

"I did not have to be asked twice as it is a great opportunity for me. The boys have made me very welcome and have made me feel at home which I would like to thank them for.

"You can immediately tell that there is a good spirit within the club and great banter.''

Hooker Lee Mears and flanker James Scaysbrook are back in selection contention for the Tigers clash.

Mears has shrugged off a hand injury which forced him to miss the win over Gloucester last weekend, while Scaysbrook had aggravated an injury in training.

But New Zealand wing Joe Maddock is still struggling with a hamstring injury.

Iain Balshaw is set to make his Zurich Premiership debut for Leeds when the Tykes tackle Worcester on Sunday.

Balshaw, a member of England's elite player squad, joined Leeds from Bath during the summer, but a groin injury sidelined him for the Premiership's opening five weekends.
