AFTER two matches, Talisman Gold hold a slender two point advantage over Sunday's team winners in the North Wessex Winter, Cotswold A, who included match winner Mick O'Brien.

His 30-8-0 weight was mainly made up of six bream, three monsters and three smaller samples from permanent peg 107.

On the other end of the section, John Williams of Isis B also took bream and a tench for a second place 15-12-0.

Rob Kepner of Devizes Red also contacted big fish at his peg in E section winning his section with 14-11-0.

A section above the weir fished very hard but Dave Johnson of Melksham drew a chub peg and was rewarded with a fourth placed 13-11-0, ahead of Pete Collingburn (Turners Blue) 13-4-0.

Isis AC Open, Sutton Benger, Wednesday October 6 In stormy conditions Pete Townsend on peg 111 caught a cracking bag of roach on the pole to win with 15-10-0, second was John Bohane on peg 115 where he caught two large tench and some good roach for 14-10-0.

Darren Wright was third from peg 106, he had one of the now famous bream and a perch for 13-12-0, followed by A McTiffin 13-8-0 and Adam Carter with 10lb.

Highworth AC (122-4-0) overhauled Haydon Street AS (74-12-0) in their annual encounter held this time at Highworth's prolific roughgrounds lake.

Nicky Stallard won Highworth's Dauntsey Cup by top weighting with 60-14-0 of carp and bream, followed by Nick Cheeseman 37-12-0 and Derek Brewer 18-8-0.
