DESPITE comments from some of our more senior members I do wish people would understand that we in UKIP are not out to destroy anyone or anything.

And we are most certainly not "anti Conservative", they are, after all, the nearest we have to political friends.

All we want to do is be free to run our own affairs from Westminster and, in order to do that, we will, in Winston Churchill's immortal words, "defend our island, whatever the cost shall be".

We do take votes from the Tories, but also Labour, Lib-Dems or Monster Raving Loony Party in fact any person who feels that Britain should be a player on the world stage, rather than just one small corner, regardless of age, sex, colour, nationality or political ideas. Anyone who feels British, not European.

I hope this clears up the confusion over UKIP's position.
