AUSSIE midfielder Matth Mcentegart said two inspirational training sessions during the week were the key to Chippenham's victory at Solihull on Saturday.

The former Southend triallist said that there was a good turn out to both sessions. He said: "We all had a great session. Everyone seemed sharp. I think it was the best two sessions that we have had this year."

Chippenham are now joint top in the Southern Premier League with Halesowen after they drew 4-4 at home to Dunstable.

Mcentegart, 21, said that it was vital to get a win after the past few weeks. He said: "It was important to win this game at all costs, sometimes it is difficult to get out of a losing run, we have done it away from home which is fantastic.

"This game meant a lot to us after a few bad performances. There was lots of cheering, laughing and joking in the changing room after the game, which has not happened for a while.

"When football goes wrong you feel run down, when it goes well you feel on top of the world. We hit rock bottom after the Lymington game, now everyone is happy. We will all be celebrating tonight, I know that I will have a few beers."

The celebrating started straight after the match when they watched the England Wales match in the Solihull bar and they continued celebrating on the coach home.

The midfielder feels that the team have put the past results behind them and can now continue to push for promotion.

He said: "I feel that there is no reason why we cannot go on and win the league. We have not met a team yet that is better than us. We feel that we can do anything if we put our minds to it."

He came to England three years ago to play for Southend. He was on a month-to-month contract and things did not work out.

He said: "I felt bad when I got released from Southend. I decided to stay and got on with things. I went to Cirencester and had two good years there."

The midfielder still lives in Cirencester and works in the Spar health club. He said: "I'm enjoying football, I hope to one day get back into the league.

"I don't think that I would go back to Australia. I miss my family but have lost touch with most of my friends.

"My dad is coming over next week which I am looking forward to. He will be watching the Cirencester game."
